Back in 2007, Tony Sorensen and Chris Peterson first met and started doing business together. Tony was an owner of McKinley Group, a leading executive search firm in the Midwest, and Chris managed a digital marketing team providing SEO services at a leading Minneapolis ad agency.
Tony hired Chris Peterson to create and implement SEO strategies and campaigns to drive more clients/candidates to McKinley Group. For 60 consecutive months, McKinley worked with Chris, and Tony saw client leads coming in through the Internet, growing month over month with an exponential increase in ROI. In addition to business partnership, over the years of working together, a strong friendship was formed.
In 2013, Tony and his business partner Chris Ohlendorf started a new business, Versique, an executive search and consulting firm. Their vision was simple – hire the best talent with industry experience, invest heavily in Inbound Marketing and build relationships not transactions. In February 2013, Tony hired Chris Peterson in-house to build the new Versique brand and also offer digital marketing services to its recruiting clients while continuing to build its reputation and drive inbound leads to increase revenue. In three short years, Chris Peterson and the marketing team catapulted the Versique brand to become known as the #1 single-site executive search and consulting brand in the Midwest. Over the last 2 years Chris and Tony were asked to speak at the NAPS annual national conference for recruiters on topics like, “How to drive more leads through inbound marketing” using tactics like SEO, PPC, Social Media Management, etc. Versique now receives 16,000 website views per month, thousands of resumes per year, and generates over 50% of its business from inbound marketing sources.
In July 2016, the “Versique digital marketing agency” rebranded to “Parqa – A Versique Company”. The name Parqa was introduced because while the marketplace was recognizing Versique as a leading staffing firm, which was great for Versique, this posed a challenge for the identity in the marketplace for the digital marketing agency. Parqa is a demand activation agency that specializes in helping companies grow through lead attraction, engagement, nurturing, and conversion.
